Our after-school programmes provide youth in grades 7 to 12 with a range of activities that engage their minds and bodies.
From help with homework, to sports and physical activities, to health and wellness, our supportive staff help to keep youth busy and engaged.
Youth sign up for the programme at the beginning of each semester, and participate from 3 to 5 days per week. Group sizes range from 15 to 25 depending on the location.
Programming begins with time devoted to homework support (30 minutes) where youth work on their studies with support from staff, peers and volunteers. Youth who don’t have homework have several options, to engage in extra educational worksheets, read individually or as a group, journal, or play educational games.
Activities in our after-school programmes are based on the interests of our youth, who take an active role in programme planning. Past activities have included sports and fitness, health and wellness, life skill such as cooking and nutrition, and social activities such as games nights.
Our youth receive healthy snacks each day that follow the Canada Food Guide.
